New Zealand Natural expansion in Malaysia
Ice cream retailer New Zealand Natural's Malaysian Master Franchisee Delinatural (M) Sdn Bhd is set to open five new outlets in 2007, with sites identified in Johor, Bahru, Ipoh and Melaka. 'Currently we have established six New Zealand Natural ice cream parlours in the Klang Valley,' says Executive Director Khong Yao Lung.Delinatural took over the Malaysian Master Franchise last October from the previous holder, which introduced the brand to the country in December 2003. The network now has seven parlours open and is also looking at setting up operations in Malaysian hypermarkets.
'Our focus is to bring to the public a range of low-fat and healthy products,' says Khong, 'including fully imported New Zealand ice creams, fat-free sorbets, low-fat fruit yoghurts, smoothies and coffee.'
